I just realized that my life resembles the movie, Matrix Resurrections…they return Neo to the Matrix…he creates the video game based on his memories of the past…then Morfeus and the White Rabbit return to free him, again… then, Neo discovers the real world has changed. My life had a pattern…in 1975 I originally dreamed up the Hotel Macabre…laid the original business plan and presented it to five potential investors… they agreed to participate.
I had partnership contracts drawn up… five equal investment partners… and me…not a partner, just the functional CEO. I do all the work, they pay the bills… and they split the profits…equally. I would simply draw a salary (a good one). They wanted it in Texas, although casinos weren’t yet approved there. That was the beginning. Then, the fighting started, one wanted 51%, two would withdraw if they didn’t get the best percentage. So… I walked around the table, picked up all the contracts, tore them up, and walked out. That was 1976. Then I returned to my active duty post.
It would take until 2007 before I found another interested investor, Richard Branson, Virgin Atlantic. His focus, like mine, was Las Vegas. Several months later (2008), I received a letter from his office in San Francisco, approving his research and consideration… with notification that He would contact me soon. Then the bubble burst, and 2008 began a financial nightmare. Then, I learned Branson had taken a sizeable amount, and invested in Space X… and, I never heard another word…even after I wrote to find out if I was even still in the game.
Now, I’m too old to participate in the construction and management of the hotel…and I still can’t find anyone willing to buy out my dream. Don’t weep! I’m beyond drinking myself under the table, with the blues. However, back to the original point. I was watching a repeat of Matrix Resurrections, and realized a series of “coincidences”… which as a UFO conspirator I understand that there are no coincidences. The significant difference between our narratives is… I never got a Morfeus or White Rabbit to return to find me. Truly sad, because, as any of my true friends will tell you, the White Rabbit is also a significant part of my lifelong obsession, Alice in Wonderland… and that obsession is dominated by Jefferson Airplane’s magnificent melody, White Rabbit.
However, in Keanu’s world context is based on the author’s imagination. But, in my world, another context is required. A marvelous hotel, with or without a casino, is the dream of every financial investor. So, what kept me in the dark for five decades. Did the financial bubble of 2008 destroy me life… or did something else generate the bubble, which destroyed my life. If I was the only incident, I could easily justify the rest of the world, and blame my personal guardian angel…for hating me. Then so many others began presenting the weirdness of “The Mandela Effect”, almost all of which I strongly recognize and acknowledge. I began following all of these… and I, personal opinion, believe that this Effect is reflective of the same time period of the Bubble.
So, my life was destroyed by the same phenomenon as all the brands, song lyrics, and behaviors. It’s important to part of something bigger than yourself. Even if it includes your own destruction. It is curious that with all their effects, the existence of my Hotel was so significant it had to be terminated. Even after considering, nobody felt the need to terminate Hitler, Senator Schumer or Justin Bieber.
